Mark Bright

Since attending Belmont University Mark Bright, a native from Longview, Texas, has become one of the most influential leaders in the music industry with a career that has gained him notoriety as a famed record producer and respected publishing-company and label executive. As one of the most sought after music producers in the Country and Christian music space today, Bright has worked with countless extraordinarily successful artists and songwriters. Evidence by the fact that in the relatively short time that Bright has been producing, he has produced some of Country music’s biggest artists, including Carrie Under-wood, who received Grammys for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in both 2007 and 2009, Reba McEntire, Danny Gokey, Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jimmy Wayne, Lonestar, Jo Dee Messina, Mark Shultz, The Issacs, Mountain Heart, Megan Mullins, Pinmonkey and  Blackhawk, whose album launched his production career in 1993 when he produced Arista’s multi-platinum group, who went on to score two No. 1 singles and nine Top Ten singles.

Bright furthered his musical legacy when he served as Vice President of EMI Music Publishing and then co-founded the eminent Teracel Music. Teracel was home to staff writers including Brett James, Rascal Flatts, and Danny Wells, boasting No. 1 hits from Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride and Jessica Andrews. In 2008, Bright accepted the position of President & CEO of Word Entertainment.

A leader in the music industry for more than 50 years, Word Entertainment is a unique, comprehensive entertainment company comprised of multi-faceted artist service departments including publishing, merchandising, booking, and online initiatives. Word Entertainment represents some of the top names and brands in music, including Point Of Grace, BarlowGirl, Mark Schultz, Big Daddy Weave, Group 1 Crew, Sidewalk Prophets, Remedy Drive, pureNRG and Francesca Battistelli, and is home to Word Distribution, Word Print, The Breen Agency, Word Music Publishing and Word Label Group’s Word Records, Fervent Records, Myrrh Records and Squint Records. Bright is responsible for overseeing all operations and divisions of the company.

Bright’s current success with Carrie Underwood has also resulted in several multi-week #1’s including “Jesus Take The Wheel” and “Before He Cheats”, which has sold over 9 million units. Mark currently owns My Good Girl Music, a co-venture of Sony ATV Music.  The company is currently celebrating their multi-week #1 song, “Do You Believe Me Now” by Jimmy Wayne and “American Ride” by Toby Keith.
