With years of constant singing and a high-level education under her belt, Kayla Adams has become a singer to be reckoned with, one who performs with the energy and attitude of a Miranda Lambert while bringing to mind such groundbreaking female stars as LeAnn Rimes. Kayla continues to refine her vocal and songwriting talents. Her new single, “Sober & Sorry,” has been released on SSM Entertainment (see video below). Kayla has already spent years on the road, both solo and as a band member, in addition to having received a fair amount of schooling, and all for one reason: the love of the music.
1. What CD is in your player now?
Kayla: My car doesn’t have a CD player!! But right now I’m really into Miranda 🙂
2. If you could dinner with The king of rock and roll (Elvis) or the king of country (George Strait) which one would chose and why?
Kayla: King George!!! He’s the ultimate Country star. I’d like to know what that was like.
3. Please finish this sentence; “If I was president, I would:
Kayla: “Get this country out of debt somehow!! Nothing else matters if we can’t do that.”
4. If you could wake up in the body of someone else, who would it be – for a day?
Kayla: I’d love to experience life for a day as my mom, so I can know what she goes through and all she does for me.
5. If you were to be left on a deserted island for one year and you pick three people to be there with you (living, dead, or fictional) and couldn’t pick any member of your family, whom would you pick?
Kayla: Blake Shelton cuz he’s hilarious, Steve Erwin cuz he’s good at adventures, & Mac McAnally so we could write some hits out there! 😉
6. What is your life’s greatest gift?
Kayla: My mom
7. If you could have written one song in any genre, what would it be?
Kayla: “I Hope You Dance.”

Kayla: Women first started to break onto the country music scene.”
9. Name three things outside food, clothing, shelter you would like to be stranded with on a deserted island?
Kayla: Kallie (my guitar), my iPhone (doesn’t matter if it doesn’t get service it still plays music and records music), board games
10. If the whole world and everything in it had to be painted one color and you got to pick the color,what color would you choose?
Kayla: Duh! Pink!
11. Who is your dream duet partner?
Kayla: Brad Paisley
12. If price were no object, what would you like for your next birthday?
Kayla: Aston Martin Vanquish (yes, I have a dream car.)
13. Who are your biggest musical influences?
Kayla: I’d say my two biggest influences as a writer are probably Kristyn Osborne from SHeDAISY, who’s a great storyteller, and Sherrie Austin, whose songs have meant a lot to me.
