Kentucky based Kentucky Blue Collar Band making music for the working class

Kentucky Bue Collar Band

The Kentucky Blue Collar Band, formed in the foothills of Eastern Kentucky in early 2004, was founded by front man Goble Cantrell, a native of Morgan County, KY who has been playing music virtually since the day he was born. The band consists of Cantrell – Rhythm Guitar and lead vocals, Mark Rohan – Drums, Don Hayes – Lead Guitar and Marc Currens – Bass and harmony vocals. The band performs all original songs and have found a way to stay true to the music by returning to the all important story line while still maintaining the musical quality of today’s popular songs.

Behind the hard driving, raw and rhythmic music of the band lies the heart and soul of the true Kentucky spirit. It is prevalent in songs that cut straight through to the average, everyday person. Although the band is true to their own no holds barred style, they have been heavily influenced by such greats as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker and Johnny Cash, to name a few, with a voice about as unique. The band has dubbed their sound as Kentucky Soul.

After the release of their first album “Rockin’ the Road” in 2006 and their second album “Long Hard Road,” in 2009 they garnered a good rotation of radio play. Their fans begged for more, so the band has been hard at work in the studio and will be releasing their third album “Evolution” in March, 2011. Both “Long Hard Road” and “Evolution” were recorded and produced by Randy Hayes of J.D. Crow, Keith Whitley, Lorrie Morgan and Tanya Tucker fame. The band was playing at Austin City Saloon in Lexington, KY in early 2009 when they met Hayes and become fast friends. In addition to releasing three all original albums, the band has also released two professional music videos, filmed in Nashville by Kevin Hayes of 371 Digital Films.

The band has accomplished all this independently and have now been playing their own style of music together for over 7 years while bringing many different influences and styles to their sound to create the perfect blend – a little Blues, a little Rock and a Southern Country Boy attitude to round out the sound and dynamics of the Kentucky Blue Collar Band.
