Fans of Darryl Worley have the opportunity to hear new music from him, as well as see a brand new live show.

Although you can’t find a new CD in your local CD store yet, fans can get the new music with a new electronic device available at Worley’s website and at his live appearance. The device is called a Geek Box, which was designed by Worley’s friend. It is a portable speaker that comes with a SD card filled with Worley’s new music – 14 tracks plus two bonus tracks. Other music can be added to the SD card. A mp3 device can be plugged into it or users can use Bluetooth to sync songs from a cell phone.

Worley says a lot has been going on. He said he changed booking agencies and that will result in more live dates in the coming year. The band has been working up a brand new live show.

The annual Tennessee River Run is scheduled for Sept. 14. The lineup will feature Worley and country legend Ronnie Milsap, along with special guests Brandon Lay, Jami Grooms and Donica Knight. Worley said he wants to cater to the region and bring in acts that are making waves in the region. In addition to the concert, the Tennessee River Run will feature a 5K run, a motorcycle poker run and more.

He said he’s been doing a lot of writing lately, and much of his inspiration comes from family. Worley said the songs often come unexpectedly like when he is in the shower or while he’s driving.

Worley released a Christmas album last year, but he said they decided to do the project at the last minute. As a result, it was close to Christmas before the CD was available. He hopes that a few tracks can be added to the project and it can be released again.

Since the release of his first single “When You Need My Love” in 2000, Worley has had three #1 hits. His biggest hit to date was “Have You Forgotten,” which Worley said was inspired by his first visit to the soldiers in the war zone in the Middle East in 2002. He has made many trips back to the area to meet soldiers and perform for them.

The song “Second Wind” is a personal song for Worley because his mother was fighting a battle with cancer. He said he did things to make the song more special for her. Even though the song was not as big of a hit as some of his other singles, he has received a lot of mail about the song. “It’s medicine to someone going through a tough time,” Worley said.
