She has been described as a modern day Johnny Cash and even though she doesn’t wear rhinestones or studded dresses her heart and soul is deeply rooted in what we today call Americana/Contemporary Country. Christina Rubino expresses her music the way most country fans expect the music to be expressed, from the heart, the soul, the true root of where the lyrics and song is coming from.

Christina was born and raised in Brooklyn New York, a devoted Catholic and deeply loyal to her family upbringing. During her teen years she was greatly influenced by legendary artist Janis Joplin. She only heard a few words of the song “Piece of My Heart” but it left a huge mark on her own and she knew that music would from that point on be her world.

At the age of 18 she set out playing with local bands, honing her skills and her own brand of music while enjoying the team support but felt deep inside that going out on her own was where she really wanted to be.

Debuting her new solo album “(A)Live from the Scrapheap” you’ll find the inspirational lyrics pulled from real life loss, suffering, and pain. Real expressions of tremendous courage and strength followed by a new found hope in life. This album is eclectic in a style all her own. This album comes from her own life experiences of getting lost in her sorrows and knowing that getting lost was the only way to find herself.

The song “Tidal” has a smooth southern country rock feel that speaks of the grit and determination of pulling oneself out of the abyss of addictions after being swept away. “Seems” is a powerful expression of emotions over the loss of a loved one and about the letting go of the pain while seeking answers to why it happened.

This is truly an exceptional collection of work by a powerful young woman. After hitting bottom while battling her own demons she was able to take those challenges and explore the possibilities of using it in a way to help others. “(A)Live From The Scrapheap” is a culmination of taking those experiences and turning them in to some of the most amazing songs headed for the charts today.

Christina Rubino is bold, genuine, and on her way to a long and fruitful career in the music industry. For more information on this amazing young woman and her new debut album please visit www.christinarubino.com
