Byron Hill, Clint Daniels, Dave Gibson & More Join Jamey Johnson, Buddy Cannon & Scotty Emerick For July 29 Songwriters 4 Songwriters Benefit

The Pen Fund kicks off their inaugural fundraising effort with a Music City show on Wednesday, July 29 at 3rd and Lindsley (818 3rd Avenue South) that includes some of Nashville’s most-respected tunesmiths.  The Songwriters 4 Songwriters event now boasts a line-up that features Buddy Cannon, Clint Daniels, Scotty Emerick, Dave Gibson, Byron Hill, Jamey Johnson, Jeff Prince and Stacy Widelitz.  Songstress Melonie Cannon will serve as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies.  The Pen Fundwas founded by the family of Country Music Hall of Fame member and award-winning singer/songwriter Hank Cochran who passed away with Pancreatic cancer in 2010.

“Thanks to Jamey, Buddy and Scotty, the word has spread and we’ve added even more incredible writers to the show,” notes Booth Calder Cochran, co-founder of TPF.  “Hank would have loved this.  It’s shaping up to be an incredible night.”  Tickets are $20 online and $25 day of show; the doors open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7:30.  TPF’s mission is to raise awareness, aid research and bring comfort to songwriters suffering from the disease.  It is a project of the Nashville-based non-profit organization, The Nikki Mitchell Foundation. To donate directly to TPF go towww.thepenfund.org or log on to your PayPal Account to make your gift now.

Chris Hennessee will start the evening with a set of the Southern/Country/Blues sound for which he is so well known.  In-the-round performances will follow, with super-star writersBuddy Cannon (“Set ‘Em Up Joe,” “Dream Of Me,”She’s Not Cryin’ Anymore”), Clint Daniels (“Brokenheartsville,”“”Roll With Me” “God Must Be Busy”), Scotty Emerick (“I Love This Bar,” “Whiskey Girl,” “Beer For My Horses”), Dave Gibson (“Juke Box In My Mind,” “Ships That Don’t Come In,” “Queen Of Memphis”), Byron Hill (“Fool Hearted Memory,” “Born Country,” “Nothing On But The Radio”) and Jamey Johnson (“In Color,”“Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,””Give It Away”).  In addition, Jeff Prince (Django and Jimmie”) and Stacy Widelitz (“She’s Like The Wind” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack) will be among those swapping seats throughout the evening.
