CD NEWS: Becky Schlegels newest CD,
DANDELION (LILLY RAY/IGO Records), is a
live-sounding record that is rich with natural
nuance, poetic imaginings
and magical tone. Co-produced by Schlegel and
Brian Fesler and recorded in Minnesota. We
took a more relaxed, spontaneous approach on
DANDELION,
says Becky, a new Nashville resident. We
let the songs be free to end up where they were
destined to be. The 13-song collection
resonates
with Schlegels insightful originals and
ever-engaging voice. Two very special guests
appear on the disc: Randy Kohrs (Dolly Parton,
Tom T. Hall) and Josh
Williams (Rhonda Vincent, 2009 IBMA Guitar Player
of the Year) DANDELION is Beckys fourth
solo album of originals. Fans can learn more
about Becky
and purchase her music at www.beckyschlegel.com.
CHARITY NEWS: Soles4Souls, Inc. announced that it
is increasing the number of shoes donated to
victims of the Haiti earthquake to one million
pairs. Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of the shoe
charity, said that the increase is possible
because of the immediate and generous response
from his
charitys partners in the shoe industry and
the level of grassroots support from the general
public. In the first three days of this
relief effort, more than
250,000 pairs of new shoes were pledged by our
incredible partners in the footwear industry, who
stepped up to reach out to people in need during
their
worst hour, said Elsey. It
doesnt make sense to simply drop off one
million pairs of shoes at once, this relief
effort will continue long after the news cameras
leave and people begin to forget about the
tragedy. For more info on Soles4Souls and
its relief partners, visit www.giveshoes.org.
